Striking the heights of endurance, talent, ability and excellence in all round development- Saraswathi Vidyalaya does it again

Saraswathi Vidyalaya,Trivandrum continues its glorious tradition of maintaining its excellent performance with 100% pass percentage in the board exams. Highest number amongst the schools in Trivandrum district. The endeavour to continue its role in imparting meaningful and constructive education in all spheres continues as it enters a new era after celebrating its silver jubilee. Our results show the strides that Saraswathi Vidyalaya has made in the arena of education in Trivandrum district. Our motto of providing “education to all’ is a affirmation to the fact that we believe that each and every member of our society is valuable. It is with with vision that we carry on working tirelessly towards proving holistic education to all young minds who come to us .Equipped with the latest technology and dedicated staff, SaraswathiVidyalaya ,Vattiyoorkavu surely stands tall and has reached the upper echelons of education. This year our brilliance was proved with 331 students who appeared for the exams, 301 students achieved first class, 149 got distinction and 46 students scored above 90% in all subjects. The topper in Science - Ganga S Nair – 97% (485/500) Commerce – Lekshmi S - 97% (485/500) Humanities - Amrathalekshmi A J 96.2%(481/500)

Alumni Meet

The Alumni Association of Saraswathi Vidyalaya met for a get together with their teachers. It was a memorable and touching day for both teachers and alumni to meet and catch up with each other. It was a day of recollecting memories and discussing in what ways the Alumni Association could associate in constructive activities.

Auld lang syne

The New Year was ushered in keeping with the spirit of the season. House wise competition was held for decorating the school premises. To add to all this gaiety school students came dressed in their colourful fest. A pudding making and musical chair competition was also held. The students participated with a lot of fervour and enthusiasm to make the last day of the year memorable.

Christmas Celebration

It was a feast to our eyes, to see our kids of Day Care and KG Section come dressed to celebrate Christmas. Amidst the carol singing, a cake was cut and snacks exchanged. All classrooms were decorated to add to the festival spirit.

National Conservation Day

National Conservation Day was celebrated by Science Club by organising a talk on Conservation. In association with the centre of Innovation in Science and Social Action a rally was organised. Students held banners carrying messages on Conservation marched in a rally a short distance from school.

November 26th is celebrated as the Constitution Day. On this occasion of Constitution Day, Saraswathi Vidyalaya conducted various activities such as Essay Writing Competition, Elocution Competition, a Quiz Competition and the mass reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India. The fundamental duties were also read out to the students. Essay Writing Competition was held for classes 8-10, Elocution was held for classes 11th and 12th and Quiz Competition for the Primary Sections (Std 6th to 8th) and the High School Section (Std 9th to 12th).Children participated with lot of enthusiasm and vigour. The activities helped to spread awareness about the Constitution of India. The topic for Elocution competition was “Right to Equality” is an important fundamental right. In the present scenario is it practised in its true spirit?” There were nine participants. The children spoke about the values of the Constitution of India, its formation, its various schedules and how it is put into practice. Around 171 students participated in the preliminary rounds of quiz competition and fourteen students were selected for the final round and three winners were selected from each section. A debate on the topic “Our Fundamental Rights in Part IV of the Constitution has guaranteed the ‘Right to Equality’ to its citizens irrespective of Caste, Creed or Sex. But in an effort of ‘affirmative action’ caste based reservation is provided. In today’s scenario – 69 years after independence is it relevant? The XI Std spoke against the motion and Std XII students spoke for the motion. In a keenly contested debate, various eloquent and interesting exchanges took place. In many areas where the students disagreed, it was seen that our youth are definitely minds with enthusiastic ideas and propositions.

To celebrate Children’s Day a special exercise in creating responsibility was conducted. Students of Std XII, took over the mantle of teachers for a day and taught the students. This was done to guide our students who while in their final year of their school life would now go out into the world and shoulder and don newer roles.
