14th November - Children’s Day, a day dedicated to our children

14th November - a day that all children look forward to each year. Yes, it’s Children’s Day, a day dedicated to our children, a day when we remember our first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehru’s love and affection for children is legendary and it is on his birth date that we celebrate Children’s Day. A special assembly was held where students read out the messages by our revered citizens. Anirudh Krishna of UKG dressed as Pt.Nehru stole the show when he delivered Nehru’s message to the children. Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallahabhai Patel, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr.Abdul Kalam’s wise words were heard through various students. It was a start to a day that would be filled with numerous activities. Primary children enlightened the school with a series of programmes related to the Children’s Day. The programme commenced with the speech of Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru by a tiny tot of UKG, followed by a patriotic song. The children had also adorned the personalities of famous legends of the world. The students of UKG enthralled the audience with a group dance and the events ended with Kavya Manjari (group song) a performance by the students of classes 4, 5, 6 & 7th.
