As we pay tribute to the Father of our nation on Gandhi Jayanti, his 155th birth anniversary, Saraswathi Vidyalaya observes the Swachha Bharat Diwas, commencing from 23rd September to 2nd October, 2024, with the symbolic theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata’ that emphasizes the importance of intrinsic cleanliness and cultural values. As part of this week long commemoration, a wide variety of activities have been planned and effectively conducted with the noble aim of inculcating social and cultural values in young minds we nurture, and the community as a whole.
Students solemnly took the ‘Swachhata Shapath’ during morning assembly to pledge their allegiance to the cause. They enthusiastically participated in various relevant activities such as awareness rallies to promote community involvement in the cleanliness drive, plantation of trees to enhance greenery and foster environmental consciousness, cleanliness drives inside and outside the school campus to bolster the fundamental concept of ‘green and clean’ environment, creation of human chain that reflected on the powerful commitment and solidarity of students to the cause and varied cultural events, including essay writing competitions, to encourage students to creatively and artistically express their thoughts and perceptions.
The ultimate intention of engaging students in such pre-eminent and pivatol pursuits is to sensitise them about the importance of cleanliness, fostering a culture of hygiene and responsibility as productive members of the community, a dream envisioned by our great Mahatma.
