As the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) celebrates the first year milestone of the iconic launch of Chandrayaan-3, on 23rd August, 2024, observing it as the National Space Day, ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU), situated in Vattiyoorkaavu, Trivandrum, organized an Open House, specially planned for young achievers. A total of 56 students from Saraswathi Vidyalaya, from classes 6 to 12, received the golden opportunity to participate in this significant and extremely informative programme, that was conducted on 10th August, 2024, at IISU, commemorating the remarkable success of the lunar mission. Students had an enriching experience as they were guided through numerous elements of the programme, such as screening of a documentary covering the milestones and achievements of ISRO, exhibition of space products developed at IISU, an opportunity to interact with scientists and visiting various facilities at IISU. Our students actively participated in a quiz that was conducted after the presentation.
The well organised programme not just succeeded in piquing the scientific inquisitiveness and competence of the young minds, but also instilled in them earnest appreciation for the brilliant work performed by the scientists that, thereby, lead our country to the path of exemplary successes.
