The drive was successful, as these waste materials would have otherwise ended up in landfills, been sold to scrap traders (who would salvage what they could and discard the rest), or been burned, releasing carbon and other harmful toxins into the atmosphere. By partnering with a government-approved recycler, it was ensured that all the e-waste collected was properly recycled, and the non-recyclable waste was disintegrated and managed according to the prevailing environmental and pollution control policies of the Government of India.
